Erica Slocombe

Principal Architect

Erica brings the best of both architecture and interior design to the practice. Prior to establishing Mihaly Slocombe, Erica gained experience at small to large practices including Rice Architecture and Brearley Architects & Urbanists. She worked on speculative city planning projects in China, and new high-rise office interiors for the Bureau of Meteorology, to meticulously resolved, beautiful new family homes.

Erica developed a rigorous approach to space planning, meticulous documentation for smooth-running projects, and an appreciation for the importance of detail and materiality to successful project realisation.

While living in Milan, Erica worked at the Venice Biennale’s Now + When: Australian Urbanism, showcasing spectacular speculative futures for our cities. This instilled in her the importance of “ideas beyond your practice”. She co-led a team to win first place in the Cork Ideal City Library Competition.

A promising tennis prodigy in her high school years, Erica still enjoys a hit, and secretly holds onto her dreams of winning a boxed set of grand slam titles.
