An exceptional exhibition on the work of young Japanese architect, Jun’ya Ishigami, appropriately titled Freeing Architecture. Going well beyond the usual bounds of architecture and creativity in general, his works use boulders, dirt, excavation and super-sized animals as their materials. This is the Home for the Elderly in Tohoku Japan, which relocates and repurposes small dwellings of different eras otherwise slated for demolition. Construction currently underway.
