The @vamuseum forecourt by @amandalevetearchitects is an advanced experimentation in the use of ceramics. It’s an intriguing addition to the museum that recalls the museum’s own preoccupation with new technology. Like most of London it’s not very well suited to the heatwave currently underway, but exists in counterpoise to the central courtyard, which is full of trees and dominated by a large wading pond. Why is London so obsessed with water anyway? Heatwave aside, enough water generally falls from the sky here that there’s no need to also collect it on the ground.
