Favourite buildings: Experimental House 9 by Alvar Aalto, Muuratsalo Finland 1953. Aalto designed this house as an experiment in bricklaying, using more than fifty different types of bricks and patterns. This allowed him to observe the performance of the bricks in the exposed island climate of Muuratsalo. Number one on Lauren’s bucket list to visit.
