Inspiration | Architecture power couples

Robin Hood Gardens (1972) in London has faced much controversy in its life. Our third architectural power couple Peter and Allison Smithson have conceded that while designed with idealism, it has failed as a social housing project. Repeated campaigns to have it heritage protected have failed, and surveys have revealed that the majority of tenants want it demolished. Should Robin Hood be protected for the importance of its design intent, or demolished for its social justice failure?
