Inspiration | Tom Kundig

Favourite architects: this project is perhaps the exact opposite of Murcutt’s “touch the earth lightly.” The existing rock formation on site was drilled, excavated and even dynamited to enable the house to be built. The house design grew in symbiosis with the rock, at one point being mirrored entirely to make better use of its undulations.
